An installation titled Incident: No 47  by Wendy Hirschberg will be exhibited at The Holland Tunnel, a gallery located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Originally erected as a pre- fabricated shed from Home Depot, this gallery is its sixth season of exhibitions.

Hirschberg has developed a sculptural interior that incorporates small environments within a context of larger sculptural forms. Constructed with aluminum, metal rods and wood, these forms are broadly envisioned shapes that create directional interest. Within this context, Hirschberg has placed a vernacular vocabulary of uninhabited chairs, cars and pod-like objects. These images/vehicles of transport cascade from ceiling to floor.

Hirschberg's conception of this piece came in part from a fascination with Kurt Schwitter's Merz series, particularly the sculptural environments that now exist only in photographs.  One steps into the work, which helps Incident: No 47 create a context of its own.
